Purpose of Grant Awards
IFFGD began awarding Research Grants in 2007 (and Research Awards in 2003). These grants are in addition to the IFFGD Research Awards. IFFGD grants provide funding for research related to functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders, and neurogastroenterology.
Our goal is to support high-quality research that will ultimately lead to improvements in the understanding of these disorders and the care of patients. The mission of IFFGD is patient-oriented. A preference is given to clinical research, as well as basic research that is translational in nature.
Types of Grant Awards
Competitive grants follow a procedure in which they are announced and applicants invited to seek funding for their research. Applications are reviewed and scored by a Selection Committee, which is independent of IFFGD staff.
Noncompetitive grants may be made from time to time by IFFGD. These discretionary, non-competing awards support activities or research in line with our mission.
Many questions remain unanswered about causes, prevention, and treatment of the disorders we address. Answers are found through research. You can help – at any level. Support IFFGD's Research Grant Award
