Research Awards & Research Grants

The International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) is dedicated to advancing research and fostering innovation in the field of gastrointestinal (GI) health. Through our Nancy and Bill Norton Research Program, we recognize and support outstanding researchers whose work contributes to improving the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of GI disorders. By funding innovative studies and honoring exemplary research efforts, IFFGD aims to inspire scientific breakthroughs that enhance patient care and quality of life.

To date, 45 researchers from around the world have been honored with IFFGD’s Research Awards and 9 researchers from around the world have been awarded with IFFGD’s Research Grants. This Research Program aims to encourage collaboration among clinicians and scientists, ultimately advancing the understanding and treatment of both adult and pediatric functional GI and motility disorders. In 2019, this program was renamed the Nancy and Bill Norton Research Program to honor the founding members of IFFGD.
