Code of Ethics of the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD)
The International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons affected by gastrointestinal disorders. These disorders include chronic conditions of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and pelvic floor. They afflict children as well as adults. In pursuit of our goal, IFFGD raises awareness, provides education, and supports research. The foundation strives at all times for fairness and reliability, retaining the independence essential to our nonprofit role as an impartial and authoritative resource.
Mission and Governance
The mission of IFFGD is to inform, assist, and support people affected by gastrointestinal disorders.
Officers and employees of IFFGD shall pursue its clearly stated mission in pursuit of the public good.
IFFGD shall have an active Board of Directors, which is responsible for setting the mission of the organization and oversight of the finances, operations, and policies of the organization.
IFFGD will be vigilant in compliance with laws, regulations, and applicable conventions that govern and regulate the organization.
IFFGD shall manage its funds responsibly and prudently.
Guiding Principles
Officers and employees of IFFGD shall act with honesty, integrity, and respect when representing the organization.
Solicitation materials will accurately represent the foundation’s policies and practices.
IFFGD shall provide information regarding its operations to the public and all stakeholders in the time and manner required by law.
IFFGD will respect the privacy concerns of individual donors, members, supporters, and all others who contact the foundation.
