PATRICK’S PERSONAL STORY

My story is about my son Michael.  On Valentine’s day, 2015 I got a call from Michael explaining that he had thrown up and it looked like coffeee grounds.  I told him he needed to get to the emergency room right away because he was bleeding.  A short time later he called me to tell me that he made it to the ER and they had diagnosed him with esophogeal cancer, stage IV with metastises.  He fought hard and died 5 months later.  I write because he had annual exams and told every doctor that he was living on fistfuls of antacids.  None of them ever did an exam and their universal comment was just lose some weight.  Don’t let these jerks tell you it is normal or related to your weight! Get an exam and perhaps you will live!  GERD unmanaged can kill!
