Magie’s Personal Story

Magie’s Personal Story: Fecal Incontinence

I have fecal incontinence. I don’t get the urge to go but what happens to me is I’d get ready for the day and go do what I need to do. Then of course, I’d come home and use the bathroom and I had drops of feces on my underwear. Well, of course I didn’t want to go to the doctor, this would be embarrassing. I mean, what if I need to be examined? I went to my pcp and was referred to a colorectal doctor. Good news. He gave me a slip of paper that tells me to take one imodium every other day and take a drink of metamucil daily. I had to work up to one imodium daily. That even worked better. What a change. I still may get a leak now and then but I feel much better.
