Lauren’s Personal Story

Lauren’s Personal Story: Chronic Constipation

Hi ya’all, I am 30 years old and I’ve had chronic constipation since I was a young child. Low iron anemia discovered at age 15, and I get liquid iron transfusions every year since oral iron supplements make the constipation worse. I just read about Angiodysplasia here on this website and I’m going to talk to my gastroenterologist about it. I’ve taken Linzess 72 mcg the past 4 years now. It gets everything out and always works, but has way too many side effects! It’s frustrating because it’s considered rude or embarrassing to talk about constipation, but it is such a stressful, time-and-energy-consuming part of my life. I sympathize with all your stories I’ve read on here.
