Dr. van Tilburg, IFFGD’s 2007 Research Award Recipient for Junior Investigator in Pediatrics and the 2008 IFFGD Research Grant winner, explains why she believes it is important to study childhood functional gastrointestinal disorders to find better treatment options, help reduce cost and symptom burdens and prevent life-long pain.
