2013 IFFGD Research Award Recipient Dr. Niranga Manjuri Daranarayana, MD

This episode is hosted by IFFGD’s Hayley McCorkle and features our 2013 Research Award Winner Dr. Niranga Manjuri Daranarayana. Dr. Daranarayana is the Head of the Department of Physiology at the University of Kelaniya. Her research focuses on Gi disorders, specifically ones that cause abdominal pain.

Dr. Devanarayana’s research looks at motility and functional GI conditions in children and adolescents including understanding risk factors for these conditions and quality of life issues. She has worked extensively to understand and highlight the importance of chronic abdominal pain and its relationship to many functional/motility disorders.
