901- Diagnosing Systemic Mastocytosis (SM)

What tests are used when diagnosing systemic mastocytosis?

To help confirm a diagnosis of Systemic Mastocytosis and detect any early complications, your healthcare provider may order several blood tests. These tests are most accurate when conducted while you are at your baseline health—not during or immediately after a symptom flare. Common diagnostic labs may include:

  • Tryptase level
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Liver function tests
  • Genetic testing for mutations in the KIT gene

Learn more about these important diagnostic tools and how they support the evaluation of Systemic Mastocytosis.
