Kayla’s Personal Story: ‘School, friendships, even simple things became overwhelming, and I often felt misunderstood and alone”
Hi, I’m Kayla. I’m a young woman, and since I was 14, I’ve dealt with constant stomach pain. It runs in my family, but that didn’t make it any easier—especially when people didn’t take it seriously or thought I was exaggerating.
Around the same time, I was also struggling with MDD and GAD. Some days, it felt like everything was working against me—my mind racing, my mood dropping, and my body hurting all at once. School, friendships, even simple things became overwhelming, and I often felt misunderstood and alone.
But over time, I’ve learned how to cope. I’ve started to understand my body and my mind better, to speak up for myself, and to take things one day at a time. I still have hard days, but I’m learning that my struggles don’t define me—they’re just part of my story. I want you to know healing is always possible, even when it feels out of reach.
