Patient Illness Experience Interview with Jason Clay

August 12, 2021
Today we will speak with Jason about his patient illness journey to help raise awareness about Gastroparesis.

Gastroparesis is a GI disorder estimated to affect up to five million people in the United States. In a recent online study conducted by IFFGD in 2019, patients were asked about their current state of health on a scale of 0 being the worst possible health (or as bad as death) and 100 being normal healthy life, 75% of respondents said their current state of health was 50 or below.

Gastroparesis is characterized by symptoms like nausea and/or vomiting, stomach pain and discomfort, dry heaves, stomach fullness after a normal-sized meal, and early fullness and the inability to finish a meal, all of which can make this disorder range from being life-limiting to life-threatening.
