This episode is hosted by IFFGD’s Hayley McCorkle and features our 2019 research award winner Dr. Arpana Gupta. Dr. Gupta is an assistant professor at the University of California Los Angeles and the Director of the Neuroimaging Core. Her current research focus is on understanding the brain-gut microbiome in relation to gastrointestinal (GI) disorders and obesity.

Other key areas of Dr. Gupta’s research include sex differences in central responses to stress; the relationship between altered ingestive behaviors and brain-gut interactions; and the modification of these relationships after targeted interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), diet, lifestyle modification, and exercise interventions, among others.
