CHICAGO, IL (September 29, 2004) - Nancy J. Norton, President and Founder of IFFGD was honored as the recipient of the Annual Achievement in Healthcare Management Award by the Women Health Executives Network (WHEN) in Chicago, IL. WHEN is a not-for-profit professional organization. Each year it presents the Achievement in Healthcare Management Award to an outstanding woman in healthcare.
Norton has built IFFGD to support people affected by gastrointestinal disorders, some that can be easily talked about such as reflux disease, and some that are often stigmatized including bowel disorders and incontinence. The foundation currently reaches public, research, and clinical audiences in over 100 countries worldwide.
IFFGD is a nonprofit education and research organization that addresses issues surrounding life with functional gastrointestinal (GI) and motility disorders. IFFGD helps improve care by enhancing awareness, educating, and supporting and encouraging research into treatments and cures for GI disorders. IFFGD was formed in 1991 by foundation president and founder, Nancy Norton.
